Six Months

To Lily on her six month birthday,

It seems like yesterday we were announcing that you were on the way... We surprised everyone when I was 12 weeks along, and the response was shouts of joy and hugs and kisses.

It seems like yesterday I was in the birthing tub, focusing on pushing your tiny body out. You were a determined little girl and came quickly and easily.

It seems like yesterday you were one week old; we already had observed you growing and changing and wowing us with your beauty and intelligence.

And now you're six months old. Time is moving too fast. You are sitting up, trying to crawl, babbling and singing your heart out, smiling and laughing. You love your dad's beard and your mom's jewelry and just about anything you can put in your mouth. You are easy going and much sweeter than your parents. You bring great joy to our lives!
