Printemps

For years, I was down on spring. I think my 45 degree, sleet and rain mixture college graduation ceremony left me bitter. But these past few months in Indiana have given me hope for the future. The beautiful, mild weather, coupled with green hues in abundance are helping rekindle my flame for spring.

Alex has been cultivating a lovely porch-sized garden, full of bright flowers, lettuce, broccoli, tomatoes, peppers, and various herbs. We have been dying to use our green thumbs for the past 18 months. It feels so good! We harvested the first of his lettuce this week... perfection!

And since the snow melted, we have fallen into the wonderful habit of weekend walks. We live in the northeast quadrant of downtown Indy, and can access the entire city via the Indianapolis Cultural Trail. Anytime we've got an hour or two to spare, we take to the streets to explore the neighborhoods, monuments, shopping districts, art galleries. Sometimes we just people watch. And usually there is frozen yogurt involved!
